DIY Swedish candy advent calendar and stocking stuffers

Looking for a fun and unique way to do advent calendars for your family this year? Try filling them with authentic Swedish candy from Haus Candy Co. Each day brings a treat to look forward to, whether it’s a favorite BUBS flavor or a sour gummy they haven’t tried.

Typically, a 16 oz bag or a 16 oz bag and an 8 oz bag give you enough for all 24 days, depending on how much you put in each day. You can build your bags online, pick every candy yourself, and get them delivered. The 8 oz bags are perfect for stocking stuffers, too.

Build a 24-day Swedish candy advent calendar

Make the countdown personal with candy chosen for your family. Use small bags, boxes, or envelopes, number them from 1 to 24, and tuck a different combination inside each day. You can even keep the picks a surprise until they open them.

This combination gives you about 1 oz a day from December 1 to Christmas Eve. Choose smaller daily treats if you want to use a single bag.

  1. Choose their favorites

On Build a bag, pick the candy your family loves and add a few they haven’t tried.

  2. Give each day some variety

Pick about eight candies and use each one three times. Put a sweet foam next to a sour gummy so no two days in a row feel the same.

  3. Save the favorites for the weekends

Put the big sour skulls or the candy they love most on Saturdays. In Sweden, Saturday is candy day.

  4. Pick it up or get it delivered

Pick up free at a pop-up, or get it delivered in Houston. Order a few days before you plan to fill the calendar.

  5. Fill and number

Divide the candy among 24 small bags, boxes, or envelopes. Fill them on November 30 so the candy stays fresh.

  6. Make day 24 bigger

Save a little extra, or a new favorite, for Christmas Eve.

Stocking stuffers filled with their favorites

Fill their stocking with a bag of the candy they love, whether that’s all sour, all sweet, or a little of both. Use these picks for ideas, and check each candy page for ingredients and allergens.

Teacher, neighbor, and host gifts

A bag of Swedish candy makes a thoughtful thank-you for a teacher, neighbor, coach, or dinner host. Build a bag with their favorites for a personal touch, or choose Haus Mix bags for a ready-to-give assortment.

Holiday Swedish candy questions

What’s in a Swedish candy advent calendar?

Usually 24 small portions of Swedish candy, one for each day from December 1 to Christmas Eve. Most mix gummies, foams, and sour candy. When you build your own, you choose every piece.

How much candy do I need for a 24-day advent calendar?

A 16 oz bag can work for smaller daily treats. Add an 8 oz bag for more generous portions or a little extra for Christmas Eve.

When should I buy a Swedish candy advent calendar?

Boxed calendars often sell out by mid-November. For a DIY calendar, order your bags a few days before you plan to fill it, ideally by the last week of November.

Can I order Swedish candy online in Houston?

Yes. Build a bag online, choose every candy yourself, then pick it up at a pop-up or get it delivered in Houston.

What’s the last day to order before Christmas?

Order online by December 22 for pickup at a pop-up. Our last Houston delivery day is December 23, so order a few days ahead.

What’s a good Swedish candy stocking stuffer?

An 8 oz bag built around the person: sour skulls for a sour fan, foamy BUBS for a sweet tooth, or a gelatin-free mix.

Is Swedish candy gelatin-free?

Some of it is. All of our BUBS are labeled vegan and gelatin-free, but a few of our candies contain gelatin. Use the gelatin-free filter on Build a bag, or check each candy page.

Do you ship Swedish candy?
