Where to buy Swedish candy in Houston

Real candy lovers know the joy of scooping their own pick-and-mix. That’s what inspired us to start Haus Candy Co., Houston’s first Swedish candy cart.

Yes, you can grab bagged Swedish candy at Target, Walgreens, and IKEA. It’s just not the same experience, and some of those bags aren’t even made in Sweden. Everything in our bins is imported from Sweden, and you can taste anything before you scoop.

Scoop a little of everything

This is how Swedes do it. Walk up, grab a bag, and choose the candies you want: sour skulls, soft foamy BUBS, sugar-coated gummies. Pick-and-mix is $1.50 per ounce, so your bag’s price depends on its weight.

Not sure where to start? Every candy on the cart has a free sample, at every pop-up. Our sample shelves are split into sour and sweet, so pick a side first, then narrow it down by texture and flavor. We’ll help you build the mix.

Chelcie’s go-to mix

Chelcie is a sour fan. Her bag always gets Tutti Frutti BUBS, Sour Foam Monkeys, and Sour Apple S-Märke.

About 80% of our lineup stays the same, because those are the candies Houston keeps coming back for. We rotate a few new ones in for the seasons, like Halloween and Christmas. See everything we carry, with ingredients, on Our Candy.

Short on time? Grab a premixed bag with a little of everything.

Is the Swedish candy at Target the same thing?

The brands are real. Target and other big stores carry real Swedish brands, and a store bag is an easy way to try the trend. Here’s what’s different.

Freshness

A store bag can sit in a warehouse or on a shelf for months before you open it. Everything on our cart was made and added within the last month.

Where it’s made

According to BUBS, the BUBS sold in U.S. stores are made in Mexico for the U.S. market. The BUBS in our bins come from Sweden, like all of our candy.

How you buy it

A store bag is a set mix. Pick-and-mix lets you build a bag of exactly what you love.

Which is better?

In our opinion, fresh candy off the cart is the only way to go. But neither one is wrong. Grab a sealed bag on an errand, or scoop your own when you want to pick every piece.

Around Greater Houston

Most weekends, you’ll find us in Houston’s favorite neighborhoods: MKT in the Heights, River Oaks, and Rice Village. We also love teaming up with local shops and restaurants, like Lily Rain at CITYCENTRE, Bar Doko at Autry Park, and Drip Nail Salon in the Heights.

Our favorite pop-up so far? Sterling’s Market in River Oaks. A great setup, and a crowd that loves candy as much as we do.

We’ve also taken the cart out to Sugar Land, Katy, The Woodlands, Chappell Hill, and Lake Conroe. To find the next stop near you, check Find Us, or book the cart for your own event.
